Co-belligerence: noteworthy alliances in a time of chaos
Common goals in politics make for surprising bedfellows
This week I had the pleasure of spending a good while with Steve Stern, who is the patriot version of the energizer bunny. At over 80 years old, he's the face of the "Stern American" podcast and the Flag Shirt Company. Reflecting on my time with Steve, I could write volumes about the invaluable lessons I gleaned from observing him in action. Our discussions spanned from supporting Gerry James, an America First candidate, to addressing the imminent threat posed by non-citizens being able to vote in Presidential elections. Watch our interview here:
Among the myriad issues I've delved into regarding election security, this one strikes a deeply personal chord for me as a naturalized US citizen. It took nearly a decade to obtain my citizenship, during which I immersed myself in this country's laws, heritage, and privileges. I studied the Constitution, passed an exam, and was sworn in. For many like myself, the naturalization ceremony is a profoundly emotional experience, symbolizing gratitude for being embraced by the United States.
The only documents that serve as proof of citizenship are birth certificates, passports, certificates of naturalization, or certificates of birth abroad. In rare cases, proof of adoption abroad or certificates of citizenship may suffice. When it comes to elections, as an immigrant, I adamantly oppose the dilution of my lawful vote by those who haven't undergone the proper citizenship process.
The voter registration process relies heavily on the honor system, with registrants checking a box affirming their US citizenship. With proof of identity, such as a driver's license or state ID, individuals can register to vote. Many loopholes exist, particularly in Florida, and in other states as well. Non citizens ARE able to register to vote. Alarmingly, based on DMV data, Florida has issued over 1.2 million new driver's licenses and state IDs since 2020.
Secretary Byrd's testimony before the Florida House in January 2023, acknowledges that individuals issued state IDs or driver's licenses have been able to register to vote, underscoring the gravity of the issue. His proposed solution? Changing Federal law to rectify the problem, effectively passing the buck to the federal government. By then, we will find ourselves as politically blue as California. Having very close ties to that beautiful land, I remember when it was a red state.
Amidst these concerns, there is a glimmer of hope. While at Steve’s office, he received a call from Naomi Wolf, an elite liberal author, feminist, and former advisor to the Clintons. To my astonishment, she engaged in a conversation about election security legislation and how to advance our cause. Could it be that even she is now concerned about President Trump's reelection?
Naomi, renowned for her advocacy regarding women's health, particularly in relation to the COVID-19 experimental gene therapy, has faced severe backlash for merely questioning cause and effect. Now labeled a conspiracy theorist, she shares the experience of censorship and adversity that has united people from diametrically opposed backgrounds. Whether COVID shot skeptics, anti-woke school board parents, advocates for a fair 2020 election, proponents of traditional gender and family values, gun owners, and more, we now seem to be marching in the same direction. There is nothing like shared misery to bond disparate people together.
Thus, the most unexpected individuals are coalescing to preserve our freedom of speech and constitutional rights while rejecting the pressure to conform, accept, and tolerate. In walking down the same path, we are co-belligerents. In some cases, we might even be holding hands.
Citizenship is what makes a republic; monarchies can get along without it.
Mark Twain
Father in Heaven,
We pray for those who have encountered unimaginable challenges in their quest to find a new life in this great nation. We express compassion for their struggles and circumstances. May good people find their rightful place in this world, while those intent on harming our nation are identified and deported.
Purify our soil of iniquity, injustice, and malevolent intentions. Thwart the plans of those who prioritize globalism over building up this republic and the freedoms it stands for. Remove from our nation the forces with ill designations.
Strengthen the resolve of those who are participating in the affairs of our governance and bring supernatural favor to those who seek to fulfill your divine purpose.
In Jesus name,
Amen
For those who are new to my blog, here is an oldie but still goldie:
Although Dr. Zelenko has passed, the company he created lives on. I highly recommend his supplements, click on this link to get at 15% discount and support my work:
I'm glad that you connected with Steve Stern; he is a very active member of the Broward Republican party and I agree that he is an "Energizer bunny."
It appears that the title of the article, however, should say "belligerents" vs "belligerence."
