Democracy:
A democracy is a system of government where power is vested in the people, who rule either directly or through freely elected representatives.
Republic:
A republic is a form of government in which the country is considered a public matter, and officials, including the head of state, are elected by citizens and are accountable under the rule of law.
The United States:
The United States is a federal republic and a representative democracy, where citizens elect representatives to govern on their behalf within a constitutional framework that ensures the rule of law and the protection of individual rights.
Clearly, the whole system hinges on electing the representatives to govern. Focusing on the election of the US President, the nomination process for the Republican Party's presidential candidate involves several key steps:
1. Primaries and Caucuses: State-level elections where party members vote for their preferred candidate. These can be primaries (direct voting) or caucuses (local gatherings and discussions).
2. Delegate Allocation: Based on the results of primaries and caucuses, delegates are allocated to candidates. Each state has a certain number of delegates.
3. Republican National Convention: Delegates from all states gather at the national convention. The candidate who secures a majority of delegates' votes becomes the party's nominee.
4. Acceptance Speech: The chosen nominee delivers an acceptance speech and begins the general election campaign against nominees from other parties.
Unlike the Republican Party, the Democratic Party includes superdelegates—party leaders and elected officials who can vote for any candidate at the national convention. However, superdelegates only vote in a contested convention if no candidate secures a majority of pledged delegates.
The primary difference with the Republican party lies in the use of superdelegates and the proportional allocation of delegates in the Democratic Party.
President Trump campaigned across the country and prevailed over Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, and other notable candidates. Hands down, he earned his nomination through the democratic process.
In contrast, although Resident Biden (not a typo, you know my opinion about 2020) was the presumptive nominee, Democrats cast their votes in state primaries and caucuses to allocate delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson were the most notable challengers but did not significantly impact Biden's path to the nomination. Until his debate performance revealed the truth of his mental state to the public at large, Democrat voters and big donors were fueling the Biden engine.
I present these concepts and facts to argue that the Democratic Party is not about democracy. For starters, the elected nominee for president has been asked to resign by his own party, despite them being aware of his mental faculties or lack thereof for a considerable length of time. If people voted for Biden in the primaries, why should he be asked to resign?
Less than a month ago, the Biden camp vehemently insisted he was "sharp as a tack and fit as a fiddle." However, he has barely made public appearances, and his resignation, which merited at the very least a press conference, was executed on Twitter/X with a letter signed with penmanship that does not quite match his previous known signatures. Since it is not my party, the insult is not personal, but it seems like they did not even try to pretend it was Biden’s hand. I surmise they have little esteem for their constituents' IQ.
After the exuberant Republican convention, puppet masters accepted the inevitable conclusion: Trump is unstoppable so they clamored for Biden to remove himself as the candidate. Whoever is managing his X account posted he had no intention of abandoning the race. Days later, he “resigns,” and now all are behind Kamala.
Clearly, the decision was made by others for him to voluntarily resign. In a true democracy, Biden’s removal should open the door for other candidates to be elected at the convention. By propping up Kamala Harris as the presumptive nominee, the power structure is conveniently dismissing the will of its base. Although the Democrat voter chose to ignore Biden’s mental cognition (or lack thereof), in a real democracy, the will of those voters should be respected.
It seems that a coup d'état has been executed on Biden by the party that accuses Trump of putting democracy in peril. By their actions, we must conclude that, to them, democracy is a soundbite. Those who belong to that party should ask themselves some hard questions. On this side of the aisle, it is obvious that if they continue in power, soon we will have no democracy and no republic.

Heavenly Father,
As we witness events that test our faith in democracy and governance, we ask for Your clarity and truth to prevail. Help us discern the path of justice and fairness, and remind us to place our ultimate trust in You.
Lord, we lift up those disillusioned by the political landscape, asking for renewed hope and the strength to uphold democratic principles. We pray for church leaders to speak truth and stand with courage for matters of principle.
Amidst division and strife, remind us of our shared humanity and common purpose. Help us engage with empathy and understanding, may peace dwell in our hearts and communities. We pray the promise of America is restored in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
The ultimate death of any Republic is the democratic process. The Republic is created from God given Rights. The democratic process is created by man. Man is corruptable. God is not.
100% correct, it has always been a soundbite/talking point from the very beginning (democracy sounds like "Demoncrat", so they use it as an association). Nowhere in the Constitution does it reference "democracy" as our form of government. The Constitution specifically charges the United States to guarantee to every State a "Republican" Form of Government - see Article IV, Section 4.
Also, 50% plus 1 guarantees the tyranny of the masses, and if not for the Constitution with written down God given rights, the "majority" can run roughshod over the "minority". It would be much worse than it is now. They have been chipping away at the Republic since the beginning, however, it was accelerated in 1913 with the 16th and 17th Amendments, and the unconstitutional Federal Reserve Act.
