It would be beneficial for any reader of this article to understand the history of Russia. Prior to the Bolshevik revolution Russia was an Orthodox Christian nation. The Tsars were Christian. The Bolsheviks were not, and a great part of their attacks were against the Christian faith, as much as against the rule of the Tsar. Many of the so-called "pogroms" that occurred during the period from 1900 to 1917 were instigated by Bolshevik attacks against Christian celebrations, processions, etc. In my opinion, the prophecy of Fatima was directed to the Bolsheviks and their anti-Christ persecutions of the normal Russian people and the Christian church. And, I would ask the author to please NOT conflate the Soviet Union with Russia. The 2 are not the same. This continues in our mainstream news media. Russia was not the Soviet Union, and the Soviet Union was not Russia., although it included the Russian country. By and large, the ethnic Russian people never wanted what the Bolsheviks were peddling. If you want to understand this important period in the history of the world, which continues to affect us today, I strongly urge you read "200 Years Together", by Aleksander Solzhenitsyn. This work will enlighten you to the facts of that horrible period from 1905 to 1920.

Unmentioned is Pope John Paul II 's Marion Year in 1987-1988. During that time we were encourage to pray for the conversion of Russia and her consecration to the Blessed Mother. Barely a year later, the Berlin Wall fell and the Soviet union started to disintegrate.

I firmly believe that a billion Catholics prayed that into happening.
