Seven or so years ago, anticipation of the August 2017 total solar eclipse was a thoroughly enjoyable activity. Adults playfully engaged in crafts that included cereal boxes, aluminum foil, and researching various "how-to" blogs or videos to safely view the impending celestial event. How times have changed since.
For April 8th, several cities or states are happily declaring a “state of emergency” for what may presumably be traffic jams and a surge of onlookers. Will New Orleans declare a state of emergency when they host the Super Bowl next year? Imagine when the US hosts the Soccer World Cup in 2026?
Overuse of emergency declarations, alternative media whipping up prophetic utterances, and actual happenings making a big deal about the upcoming eclipse are disconcerting. The air is thick with questions. Will there be unforeseen technological disruptions? Earthquakes, perhaps? General chaos? Notably, last year there was an annular eclipse on October 14th that garnered far less attention.
My personal forecast? I predict a few singed retinas among the ill-advised and uninformed. Maybe some minor traffic snarls in the cities lucky enough to lie in the path of totality. And yes, earthquakes are always a remote possibility—there were a few notable tremors around the world shortly after the last eclipse. Coincidence? Perhaps. Or maybe there's something to be said for the gravitational dance of the sun and moon.
Curiously, the 2017 eclipse traversed over seven cities named “Salem” invoking notions of peace. Now, seven years later, the path of totality will cross several cities called Nineveh—a nod to the biblical tale of redemption and repentance. The great and wicked capital of the Assyrian empire was delivered a message of God's impending judgment. Surprisingly, its people heeded Jonah's warning, repented, and turned from their evil deeds. As a result, God relented from destroying the city, demonstrating His mercy and compassion. Could we be witnessing cosmic reckoning? An opportunity for America to reflect, repent, and forge a new path?
Consider the convergence of these celestial paths over Carbondale, Illinois—a region dubbed “Little Egypt.” Could this portend a modern-day exodus, a journey toward true freedom and enlightenment? It's been 404 years since the Mayflower's arrival at Plymouth Rock, marking the inception of a bold experiment in governance and faith when those brave souls signed this godly compact.
“Having undertaken, for the Glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith and Honour of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the First Colony in the Northern Parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God and one of another, Covenant and Combine ourselves together into a Civil Body Politic, for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute and frame such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the Colony, unto which we promise all due submission and obedience.”
While many are projecting doom and gloom potentials, perhaps this celestial event augurs the desired but difficult path towards true American freedom? Who among us will choose to forsake enslavement of thought and mind, heed the warnings of truth, and choose repentance?
Many are called, but few are chosen.
Matthew 22:14

Father in Heaven,
We pray that the wonders of heaven move the spirit of those who may be redeemed. May the light from above pierce many souls and open many minds to accept your heavenly decrees and submit to your divine will.
Oh creator of Pleiades and Orion, of the darkness of night and the glory of morning, we call upon you to deliver this nation. May America once again be the light of the world. May we be a people who eclipse evil and illuminate the path that leads towards goodness, mercy, and salvation.
In the name of our Holy Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen

I hatevto admit it..but I think a few months after..especially because we have lost our faith in God in this country...and m9st people will not repent..we will have a few m9nths and then an9ther earthquake al9mg the New Madrid fault line. Which will destroy the transportation grid of rail and trucking and split the country in half.
Maybe if it does close to the election..it might defeat the current cheating set up 8n Texas AZ and pa..into which they have flown and registered to vote over 4 million migrants.
I don't see anyone doing anything about this....do you.?
