A one page bill in Florida's Capitol points to a much larger nationwide strategy
HB 721, with its Senate counterpart SB 562, signals a coordinated effort aimed at preventing President Trump from securing a victory in 2024.
Let’s start with the big picture: Saboteur du jour Nimarata Haley remains in the race thanks to substantial Democratic funding. Nikki, the future LizChaney2.0 of the Republican Party, will have to decide if she wishes embarrassment in her home state of South Carolina or she bows out before this humiliation becomes permanent on her record.
DeSantis, after vaporizing $200MM on an unsuccessful foray into national politics, is now recalibrating and rebranding by committing Florida’s National Guard to Texas to address the border crisis. While this move offers meager substance, it presents compelling optics … now, let’s get into the weeds.
Simultaneously to the bread and circus of national politics, there is a shadow fight unfolding behind the scenes: less flashy maneuvers by the Anti-MAGA establishment that are unfolding in real-time. Let me explain.
California, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Georgia, and New York stand as pivotal states shaping the outcome of the Presidential Election. Therefore, it’s unsurprising that significant legal actions against Trump are unfolding in Georgia. In Texas, a cabal known as the “dirty dozen” either quashes conservative legislation or sidelines it altogether. And then, there’s Florida.
What happens when you fail to clean up voter rolls, leave voting loopholes wide open for the tsunami of illegals flooding the country, and contravene against vigilant citizens to monitor the election process? The implication is clear: there is a concerted effort to once more bar Trump from the White House.
How can we infer that this is the path charted by the Anti-MAGA crowd? Because HB 721, with its infamous “Harass” verbiage, serves as the first course on the menu. Next on the legislative table is HB1035, which opens the door to Ranked Choice Voting, and (HB67/SB236), which proposes doing away with the Electoral College.
Meanwhile, bills addressing absentee ballot chain of custody, voter roll clean-up, and citizenship—legislation designed to close wide loopholes, tackle gaping issues, and resolve substantive problems—have not been scheduled for hearings. Rather than reflecting a lack of appetite, this inaction clearly represents a concerted effort to deny and obfuscate much-needed measures for election security. Thus, the cheating mechanisms deployed in previous elections can be unleashed against Trump.

Those who supported HB721 from the anti-MAGA camp deserve strong opposition. While tar and feathering isn't a realistic option, it's vital they hear from you through phone calls, handwritten letters, or a visit to their office. Here's the list and a link to find them:
To voice your opposition and quash HB721/SB562 on its next stop, it's crucial to make your stance known to the Senate Ethics and Elections Committee no later than Monday, February 5th, at 2:30 PM.

Based on this scorecard, legislators can see what bills we support or oppose, while we will keep tabs on their votes. Ultimately, we will be able to determine if politicians pass or fail the report card on election security.
It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds.

I’m irate. Are you? Let’s pray:
Heavenly Father,
Grant us the wisdom to discern Your will and the courage to follow it faithfully. Help us to walk in Your ways, to love one another as You have loved us, and to serve Your kingdom with unwavering devotion.
Father, we humbly ask for Your blessings upon our families, our communities, and our world. May Your peace reign in every heart, Your justice prevail in every land, and Your mercy abound in times of trial. Strengthen us in our faith, renew us in hope, and fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may be beacons of light in a world often overshadowed by darkness.
We praise Jesus, our Savior, now and forevermore. Amen.

Regarding the Florida chads: all they needed to do was tell poll workers and citizens to check for "hanging chads" prior to putting their ballot in the box. I always did that anyway. The machines that followed malfunctioned on at least two of us: a friend and I each tried to vote for our candidate, but the machine wouldn't let us. A poll worker assumed I was just dumb, but then she saw that there was a problem and my voting privacy was compromised. A very large man standing next to me was annoyed that I complained because he was trying to make his selections. I wonder how many voters were too intimidated to say anything. The past elections our signatures were compromised by having to write with long sticks. Both the last previous and the present supervisors of election seem to be incompetent. The last one was appointed and then voted in later.
