When volunteers are knocking on doors in Broward County, encouraging their neighbors to vote and recommending a candidate, it is disheartening to equip them with incorrect “walking lists”. In the blistering and humid Florida summer, their irritation factor boils over when they encounter voters that have moved, died, or not even existed. Conversely, lists with phantom addresses are not only a waste of their time but are disturbing, deflating, and a blaring red flag.
In Palm Beach County, members of the same household have received multiple ballots with different precincts. Reports of unsolicited vote by mail (VBM) ballots are surfacing in social media chats. Adding fuel to the fire, Marion County misprinted voter registration cards showing Arizona zip codes, and Alachua County recently mailed erroneous VBM ballots to over 1800 citizens.
In isolation, each of these examples is being dismissed as unique data glitches but when viewed collectively, they are symptomatic of a much bigger issue that was identified in 2021 by Defend Florida canvassers. Note how the corporate media attempts to minimize the situation:
In the Sunshine State there are three data sources housing voter information and by law, they must be in synchronicity. The first one is the Florida Voter Registration System (FVRS) at the state level. The second data source is at the county level, where 67 Florida counties store resident information. The third is the county vote by mail (VBM) distribution list. The data in these three lists ought to sync up in harmony.
Back in 2021, after knocking on 14,000+ households and finding symptoms that indicate data record anomalies, Defend Florida volunteers reached out to local Supervisors of Elections (SOE’s) to present their findings. They also asked to review the data sources.
A lack of transparency results in distrust and a deep sense of insecurity.

A few SOE’s embraced the collaboration while others were reticent and dismissed the public records requests (PRRs). Specifically, Palm Beach and Broward counties, headed by Supervisors of Elections Wendy Link and Joe Scott respectively, ignored citizen PRRs. Now these counties are dealing with VBM snafus: an unknown number of voters have received botched VBM ballots with the wrong races on them.
Meanwhile, the Florida Supervisors of Elections (FSE) Presided by Mark Earley, continues subverting and blocking efforts to gain transparency on the voter rolls, citing VRS (vendor) proprietary concerns even though all of these records are public domain and are covered by Florida’s sunshine laws.
Given the lack of synchronicity that appears to prevail amongst the three voter source databases, it is not difficult to conceive scenarios that are conducive to Vote by Mail debacles. The problem is not limited to a single county, and the golden standard of elections espoused by Florida is showing some tarnish. Given the VBM errors, how can these upcoming primaries be safe, secure, or valid?
For months, volunteers requested discovery information that could have advanced data integrity conversations. Given enough time, perhaps the solutions could have been implemented before the fecal material hit the fan. Now it seems everyone is going to have to take a bath … and some should take a hike.
Bureaucracy defends the status quo long past the time when the quo has lost its status.

“I am extremely concerned Florida primaries are compromised. I hear what is happening in other counties across the state and want to know what is being done about wrong vote-by-mail ballots being sent out. How it will be fixed so our elections are accurate?
I request a public explanation and full disclosure from the responsible elected officials on how this happened, who is responsible and what is being done to ensure the integrity of our election data. Thank you.”
